Red Chili Peppers
Where else but New Mexico would you encounter this scene in front of a shop. There is nothing better than the red and green chili peppers in the great Southwest. These were especially beautiful hanging out in the hot Santa Fe sun.
As friends who were with me could attest to, it took several attempts to capture this image of a waiting cowboy in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was interesting to me, with his yellow shirt and matching boots as he sat, kicked back, waiting for his shopping companion. I didn’t want too much background distraction, and it was a busy day in the square, but I finally lucked upon a scene in which he was the only character. I am fairly happy with the result, as I think it portrays the true feeling of Santa Fe.
One of my favorite places to visit and spend time in, Santa Fe, New Mexico is highlighted by the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Located on the square in the heart of downtown, this Roman Catholic Cathedral was built between 1869 and 1886 on the site of two older churches dating back to 1626. Today, this church and the grounds surrounding it serve not only as a sacred place of worship, but also as a peaceful resting place for weary shoppers, adventurers, and sight seers visiting the city.
