On this Friday, the eve of Father’s Day weekend, what better picture to post than this one shot a few years ago of a father and daughter enjoying the square in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I love that she is looking away, ready to go out and explore on her own, but anchored to her dad’s finger. I love still being “anchored” to my own dad, and wish him a very happy Father’s Day!
There is nothing like the innocence and potential in a baby’s feet. These are the precious feet of a Navajo toddler attending Vacation Bible School in the Four Corners area. During this particular mission trip, our team was focused on hands and feet. As I focused on this child’s feet, the mystery of their potential came to mind. Where will they take her? Who will she lead? Who will she follow? Will they lead her on a comfortable path, or one filled with hurdles and potholes? As she encounters the burdens that are sure to come her way in life, my prayer for her is that she will have the conviction to stand in the promises of her faith. Where are my feet taking me?
Every summer, I am blessed to share the stories and love of Christ with children on the Navajo reservation in the Four Corners area. These children bless me more than I can say. This little boy and I had a grand time climbing on the jungle gym during recreation (re-creation)!
