Rocky Mountain Rainstorm
On our visit last summer to Rocky Mountain National Park, there were several afternoon rainstorms that created a such a picturesque sky. The Rocky Mountains have been a favorite place of mine since I visited them as a child, and I am still overwhelmed by their magnificence. These rainstorms just added another dimension to the beauty of the entire area.
Hallelujah! He is risen!
“And everything that’s new has bravely surfaced
Teaching us to breathe
What was frozen through is newly purposed
Turning all things green
So it is with You
And how You make me new
With every season’s change
And so it will be
As You are re-creating me
Summer, autumn, winter, spring”
– Song lyrics from Nicole Nordeman’s song, Every Season
Rocky Mountain Rush
I was fortunate enough to grow up visiting many of the National Parks scattered across the United States. Wonderfully, in addition to growing an appreciation for the beauty of our National Parks, these adventures helped solidify an unbreakable bond within my family. In the summer of 2011, my sister’s family and mine spent a week in the picturesque Rocky Mountain National Park. It was such a (welcome) departure from the harried, high tech world we live in. Don’t miss treating yourself to exploring this amazing gift.
The winter of 2012 has been erratic to say the least. So far, we’ve had one really good snow. Luckily, the grey, snowy day was followed by an unbelievable sunny and still day – beautiful for shooting pictures. These red berries were just begging to be noticed.
Snowy Virginia Landscape
There are many wonderful benefits of living in beautiful Virginia. One is the ever changing eye candy dependent on the season, the time of day, the vista, and the weather. This a a shot taken of local farmland on a cold and windy February day.
